Text Æ Lost in the Seven Worlds Ö Petronela Ungureanu

In another world she makes the mistake of falling for one of the disgraced beings In the name of love she is confronted with a most disturb Even as a booklover there are a few genres I seldom read There is the occasion however when someone I know publishes in one of those genres then I can't wait to jump at the chance to experience it I consider Petronela Ungureanu a fabulous blogging buddy and one of the most creative writers I know Her blog Why I Wake Every Day is engaging and well written so I knew her recently published short story Lost in the Seven Worlds would be eually as goodReading “Lost in the Seven Worlds” may have changed my mind about not reading short stories Here's the description on 'When a young woman finds herself captive in another world she makes the mistake of falling for one of the disgraced beings In the name of love she is confronted with a most disturbing demand and faces a crucial decision Will she remain lost in the Seven Worlds or will she accept the challenge of a love beyond mortality?'As I read the story I hungered to understand the world this young woman had been ferreted away to and the people who were responsible I wanted to know about the different alien races and what would happen in the end The end That’s the one thing that got under my skin is the fact that there wasn’t an end but there was Petronela left it open because she must have a seuel in the works I’m sure she must right? In fact I was reading some of the reviews and other readers feel the same way It’s the type of story ending that either makes you concoct your own conclusion and leaves you surmising until you forget about it or stalk the author until they write the next book I’ll take stalking for 100 AlexBecause Petronela weaves her words in a way that causes images to dance through your mind and takes you on a journey to a world she created you only want to hear her voice Her voice is what introduced you to this other world left you longing to visit and learn It’s a world of beauty mystery and magic – the very words I would use to describe PetronelaHere’s a sampling of her word power“It is a majestic immense floating city surrounded by lakes and waterfalls Its architecture or shall I name it its poetic masonry is a most unusual and sublime blend of stately domes lacy arcades never ending colonnades that seem to provide a most glorious support to the sky and silvery white walls”I don’t know about you but I can envision the place she describes The vividness her words cause make me think I can touch one of those domes and slide my hands along the walls A place I would steal away to for a vacationMore about the authorShe’s a fantasy writer and a journalist living in Romania She enjoys walking barefoot in the grass reading Jane Austen and being surrounded by her cats “When the time feels right she mysteriously withdraws in her favorite corner where she concocts fantastical stories about elves fairies gnomes and other wondrous creatures” – from her pageI definitely recommend this uick read – I didn’t put it down ‘til I finished – to anyone who appreciates this genre For a first time author “Lost in the Seven Worlds” is a treat to read and I await with a ready Kindle for her next book or short story

Book Lost in the Seven Worlds

Lost in the Seven Worlds Ing demand and faces a crucial decision Will she remain lost in the Seven Worlds or will she accept the challenge of a love beyond mortalit Full disclosure I was given a free ebook copy of this short story by the author in exchange for an honest reviewPetronela Ungureanu has one of the beautiful uniue writing styles that I’ve encountered of late It’s wonderfully descriptive in an old fashioned sort of way and you really feel like you’re immersed in her fantasy world In a longer piece than Lost in the Seven Worlds it would drag down the plot but in a short story it just enhances the world she’s createdFrom what little I could gather the world building in this story is much complex than could be contained in a short story I would love to learn about the Daevas and their customs but short stories are well just too short The details that were included were all relevant to the story and were interesting but there just weren’t enough to make a fully realized worldThis is a great short story it truly is The only problem is the story itself is far too complex for the medium In all honesty this would be a great novel However I have to judge it based on its format And the truth is Lost in the Seven Worlds was than a little confusing especially at the end There was a huge twist at the end and although I read the story through a couple of times I still don’t understand it It’s nice to end on a bit of a cliffhanger but readers have to also understand what’s going onOverall I think this short story was decent It’s just that the ending was a little too rushedI give this short story 355 stars rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads rating purposes
