Woke up and had a leisurely breakfast, it was quite grey and cloudy in Luz Saint Sauveur, we decided to leave over the Col de Tourmalet and broke through the clouds at about 1000 meters, the view back down the valley was stunning!

When we arrived at Seix, I decided it would be nice to go for a bike ride, although a little grey it was warm and dry , and I had a little 40 mile route pre-planned…

The first climb was up the Col de Portech, it was stunning and very rural, although quite a bit steeper than anything I have cycled thus far…

The second climb in the ride was the Col de la Core, four years ago this was one of the memorable climbs, this year again it will be remembered, but not for the same reason, the grey cloud was hanging over the mountain and was down to about 500 meters (or less) I should have carried lights/rain jacket…but I didn’t!

When I descended back down the mountain I was wet and frozen, my fingers were numb and it took a while to get my feeling back!

Strava session here…
